Troy Schurr, chief biopharma business officer at Foundation Medicine
The upgraded platform, now available to biopharmaceutical research partners, leverages Manifold’s AI infrastructure to improve the speed and accessibility of large-scale genomic data exploration. FoundationInsights® integrates Foundation Medicine’s multimodal datasets, derived from more than 800,000 de-identified patient genomic profiles, to enable researchers to interrogate genomic alterations, patient cohorts, and biomarker prevalence with greater flexibility and precision.
Foundation Medicine is a pioneer in precision diagnostics. By combining Foundation Medicine’s powerful multimodal databases with Manifold’s purpose-built AI capabilities for life sciences, together we can make it easier for researchers to work smarter and faster to unlock the answers needed to discover innovative personalized therapies.
Vinay Seth Mohta, chief executive officer and co-founder at Manifold
According to Foundation Medicine, the integration allows users to perform natural language-driven searches, enabling non-technical users to frame complex genomic queries conversationally. In parallel, experienced computational scientists can use Python or R for in-depth, customized analyses. The AI-enhanced system aims to streamline the process of identifying patient subgroups, understanding variant distribution, and accelerating translational and clinical research applications.
The enhanced FoundationInsights® environment represents an evolution in the company’s broader data strategy, which emphasizes scalable, AI-enabled access to its proprietary multimodal datasets. A version of the platform tailored for healthcare providers and health systems is planned for release in 2026, signaling Foundation Medicine’s intent to extend data-driven insights beyond biopharma and into clinical decision support.
