Twist Bioscience has developed a customizable DNA-based comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) panel intended for research applications in oncology. The panel enables the identification of genomic alterations across a broad spectrum of tumor types, with the aim of supporting translational research and the development of targeted therapeutic approaches.
The CGP panel comprises 562 genes relevant to oncology, selected based on their clinical and research relevance across multiple cancer types. It is designed to detect a range of variant classes, including single nucleotide variants, insertions and deletions, copy number variations, and structural rearrangements. Additionally, the panel provides coverage for the calculation of tumor mutational burden and the assessment of microsatellite instability.
The design accommodates flexibility in content and workflow, allowing adaptation to laboratory-specific requirements and compatibility with multiple sequencing platforms. This approach is intended to address limitations in existing CGP solutions, particularly in terms of fixed gene content and restricted workflows.
The panel is supported by Twist’s target enrichment and library preparation workflows, and development efforts include collaborations with data analytics partners to integrate downstream bioinformatics capabilities.
